February Newsletter 2009

Our first social night was held @ Golden Corral in Wilson on February 4th. We had approximately 16 members in attendance. When the weather warms up to ride we will pick a destination to meet and ride to get a bite to eat. Next social will be March 4th, 2009 between 6:30 & 7:00 @ Western Sizzlin, 101 N Bruton St, Wilson 27893.  Where this has gone back to being social with no meeting please do not feel rushed into being there at 6:30.

Eastern District Swap Meet was Feb 21st and 22nd. The band was 69 Band from Raleigh. Charlie Boone from the Raleigh Chapter made chili for Friday night vendor party. Vendor attendance was down quite a bit from last year. We did get a few renewals and a new member for TRB. Our newest member is Danny Holland of Lucama.

Thanks to all that participated at the meet.

The TRB Gun Raffle is fast approaching so we need to start preparing now. If you have any old bike parts that you can donate to Stewart to help make our trophies this year please get up with Bob or Stewart.

We voted for the band for the Gun Raffle and it will be Still Standing.

We need door prizes so if you can get donations it would be greatly appreciated.

The winner of the helmet raffle in February was Brandon Lee of Lucama. He is the grandson of Robbie Holland.

We raised $227.00 after expenses to send to the State Helmet Fund.

Ron Jansen,  new member of TRB has stepped up to be the new Legislative Coordinator for TRB. Lets all pitch in and help Ron settle into this new position. He has some Big shoes to fill!! A BIG Thanks to Wayne McNamee for all the work he has done being Legislative Coordinator over the years.

Congratulations to Jersey & Diane Jantzen on the birth of their new grandson born on Feb 1st, 2009. His name is Michael and he weighed 7lbs 9oz and was 22 ½" long. Michael joins big sister, Allene who is 5 years old.

The winner of $30.00 in the 50/50 drawing was Kenny Barnhill.

Had Mike Bullock of Macclesfield been present at the meeting he would have won the attendance prize of $189.00. The money will now roll over to the March meeting.

appy New Year! Hope your new year has star

January Newsletter 2009

Happy New Year! Hope your new year has started healthy and safe. I started out the New Year with gall bladder surgery and am on my way to recovery. Patsy Bullock of the Hogs Pen also started her new year with some heart health issues.

Our first meeting of 2009 was cancelled due to a snowstorm and changed until the next night. Canceling a meeting doesn't always allow me to give more than a 24 hour notice so I ask that you check the Home page of the website the day before and the day of the meeting for any changes that may occur.  I will make phone calls and for those of you that have no access to the internet, please make sure I have your correct phone number.

We voted on our new TRB logo for our merchandise and the website. Thanks to Patsy Bullock, our winner and John Frazier, ( she edged him out by one vote) for being the only two that submitted any logos. Each will receive a t-shirt with the new logo.

We will be going back to Social night being social with no meeting. I will still make arrangements for us to go out and eat and when the weather warms up we can have a destination to meet and decide where to eat or just ride for a few hours. Social for February will be at Golden Corral in Wilson @ 6:30pm.

Hope to see you there..

We would like to put together a Sunday ride once a month. We would all meet at a location and leave at the same time each month. Whoever wants to ride, just show up and

we  will decide where to ride to at that time. Once all the details are together I will post it. There will also be more discussion at the future meetings.

Eastern District Swap Meet is coming up on Feb 21st & 22nd. We will be setting up on Thursday night. If you would like to help out, contact Jesse Watson @ 919-778-0049.
